The details:

We are opening with the trailer for BOY & the music video Wolves Eye by SSION (pronounced “shun”), the brainchild of Kansas City, Mo based multimedia artist Cody Critcheloe. For their first full-length album, Fool’s Gold, Cody and his collaborators created a series of elaborate music videos and assembled them into the feature-length queer musical epic, BOY. The film has screened internationally, accompanied by an extravagant installation of artwork by Cody. SSION’s new album, Bent, is out May, 2011.www.SSION.com

Next, we are screening the original 16mm print of Thunder Perfect Mind, a psychedelic documentary portrait of Saint Teresa Hester, a blind, psychic spirit dancer and retired hooker from San Francisco. Film-maker and artist Micaela O’Herlihy made the film while attending San Francisco Art Institute, utilizing optical-printing and alternative processing techniques from hand-altered negatives, inspired in part by the occult imagery and techniques of experimental filmmakers such as Kenneth Anger & Stan Brackhage. The film premiered at Sundance in 2004, and has screened at festivals nationwide. Her recent jobs have included adjunct professor, translator for people with severe speech impediments, mushroom cultivator, and paranormal videographer. She lives on a farm in rural Wisconsin, with her family.www.micaelaoherlihy.com

Timothy Cummings will be presenting Iodine, an 8 minute video that he made with filmmakers Aaron Plant and Shane Francis about a bizarre game of make-believe between a young girl and her little brother. The film has exhibited in video art installations and festivals internationally. Timothy, a self-taught artist, moved from Alburquerque. NM. to San Francisco in 1993, where he is represented by the Catherine Clark gallery. His solo show of paintings “Drawing Down the Moon” will be on display April 14th - May 21st at Nancy Hoffman gallery in Brooklyn, NY. When not painting, Timothy enjoys dancing around the studio in his underwear with the music up. www.timothy-cummings.com

Our feature is Austrian artist Hans Scheirl’s 1998 Queer Sci-Fi film, Dandy Dust. “Dust, a split-personality cyborg of fluid gender, zooms through time and space in search of his/her own memories and a sense of understanding. S/he travels from the Planet of White Dust where war is constant, to the Planet of Blood and Swelling, a hybrid of his/her father’s body.”- imdb. Since 1995, Schierl has devoted more time to painting. In 2003, he was granted his Master of Art studies in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins College of Art + Design, London. He is currently Professor for ‘Contextual Painting’ at the Akademie of Fine Arts Vienna. http://hansscheirl.jimdo.c om/dandy-dust/
